Behavior Training Program
|
The CASE Collaborative Behavior Training Program offers intensive services to young children, many of whom have a diagnosis of PDD/Autism. The program provides children with 1:1 instruction (usually at school), as specified in their Individual Educational Plans. The primary approach to instruction is ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) addressing the domains of communication, socialization, daily living skills, and cognitive development. Parent training and consultation are also components of the program, as is consultation and education for teachers. Instruction in the Behavior Training Program is provided by a behavior trainer, who is supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and follows the guidelines of an ABA model. Once specific goals and objectives are determined by the child’s special education TEAM, distinct teaching procedures and behavior support plans are generated. Trainers then implement these individualized programs and collect data. The data is presented in graphic form and periodically reviewed to evaluate student progress and procedural effectiveness. At times the CASE Collaborative Behavior Training Program is asked to provide children with summer programming, either as part of or in addition to a site-based summer experience. Referrals to the CASE Collaborative Behavior Training Program may be made by any member school district. For additional information, please contact the CASE Office or the special education administrator of a CASE member school district.
